Objects that have been used for a long time acquire personal significance. Furthermore, when they are passed down through generations by many, they become symbols. These symbolic objects are known as totems, and they may be renewed in hopes of bringing well-being to the group or individual they represent.

The Meaning of Objects

The essence of the towel began with the weariness brought by consumption driven solely by function and necessity. Though objects may acquire meaning through time, it seems that such enduring artifacts are rare in our modern world. I wished to create an object imbued with symbolism, a thing to exist alongside us for many years.

Rooted in Experience

Drawing from the wellspring of personal experience—be it luck, stability, or well-being—I seek to encapsulate the diverse experiences of both individuals and communities.

Familiarity

Rather than seeking objects imbued with complexity, collective significance, or religious undertones, I am in search of those that offer a lightness and a personal familiarity accessible to everyone.

Simple Discoveries

I hope to uncover something that was once close but forgotten, through objects reflecting the experiences and memories of those near to us, demonstrating that even the ordinary can hold profound meaning.
